You just know which one I watched first don't you? Yep... Locomotion! Genius! I have tears of laughter streaming down my face, but it's so well done as well as being funny! I love the way the puppets let their hair down in the instrumental break!
I'm hooked! I never wanted to try YouTube because I thought it was mainly for kids. After watching the OMD vids, thats it, I could sit there for hours watching videos. What an incredible invention! When all these cool videos first came out, I never was able to watch them, we couldn't afford cable tv. Now I can see all I've missed, even concert footage, wow, its a great thing! "Never Turn Away"...(had it on Junk Culture, which has snapped, must replace as soon as possible!) what an amazing song, brought tears to my eyes, because, musically it's just beautiful.

Debbie the extended version of 'Never Turn away' is much better than the original album version. If you can't find that on YouTube then try the media section on the main site

Thanks for the info Corky, I have to try that. That was always a 'forgotten' song of mine. I never knew the name, (who reads those tiny words on cassette tapes?), but when it came on, I absolutely loved it. It gives me goose bumps and makes me tingly. Almost better than you know what....
Very nice! I'll have to play it with sound later, but I watched on my 'silent' computer and it looks great! Absolutely love the mix of photos, how they changed thru the years, especially "someones" hairdo....

This has been in the offish site for a while, it's Paul Wirrals' creation... that's one of the main reasons I go over there, he is extremely talented with his YouTube stuff!
Nah, its nice to see people making the effort Mark, and besides theres so much in the media section now its easy to duplicate!
OK! BTW took me ages to find it on the M&H media site ..it's all a bit 'cluttered' .. and the quality not so good either. Thought there'd have Messages from the same show / performance too but it ain't there....as far as I can see.

I know what you mean The problem is, that I started all of these video clips before Youtube got going etc... There are some old VHS tapes (3 Hours of OMD) that I have put on-line, I think from memory I have put four of them up so thats over 12 hours of clips.... Then all of the new additions, I would say if someone watched every clip from start to finish I have (so far) got around 20 hours of video alone And in file sizes, that is gigs and gigs...
I wonder if someone can help me out here. Was just on YouTube, and saw a "Messages" video, and it had Andy playing bass. On the other "Messages" video, the one I usually watch, it has Paul on bass. Which one is correct?
I have to admit, I don't remember seeing Paul playing Bass. But I've Just found the video you were on about, and that is the official video for the song with Paul on Bass.
He does do nice work, doesn't he? Very nicely put together. Nigel seems to know what he's doing.
So, I was flipping thru the OMD vids, my new favorite is Call My Name. Great song, great vocals by Andy of course, very sensual. But I was a little confused regarding the keyboardist...seems to look a little tan. Who is this guy and wheres Martin? Was he present on the whole album?
OK, oops, my bad. I did some checking around, and wasn't Andy the only original member at the time? Wow, my eyes are fuzzy. I was looking at mostly the live concert footage on Youtube, and I must say Andy sure does have some energy. Man, I get tired just watching him!
I was wondering, though.... ...they never made a video for "Love and Violence"? What a powerful, wondeful song. How could that not have been a single??

"Love and Violence"?
never a single, so never a video.. But a song that many fans do not like... But a song of its times.. and listen to the song words... From Sugar Tax, OMD was Andy.. and his new line up...
Really? That was always a huge favorite of mine, til this day, those opening notes jolt you into listening...like a slap in the face. It's so full of sounds, loud sounds, and very full musically. On top of that is Andys superb voice, which is just powerful stuff. He's one of the rare few that can sing/scream effectively. A lot of people just scream, some can barely sing. But this guy rips out his heart in many songs, this one especially. Seriously does make my heart skip a beat. Yeah, the words are strong. Its a strong song, a great song!
Just found this on Youtube, I don't think it's been posted here yet. It is The Beginning and the End mixed with a up tempo beat. I usually hate this sort of thing being done to a great song, but this actually works and sounds good.
BTW, there is no video to watch, just a song to hear.
New Head the caption for the video reads - Some of my metal art work done in precious, semi-precious metals(sterling silver, shibuichi,shakudo...), and steel along with some music by OMD. New Head from the Universal CD
Here is my latest offering. Unfortunately I cannot get exactly what I was after, but this is close. My interpretation of NAVIGATION

I have just searched through all available videos to try and make a "Visual Dazzle Ships DVD" Sadly there are 3 tracks without any video's made for them yet. They are...This is Helena, International and Silent Running.
Might have a go at making a video for 1 or 2 of these, and by the end of the year have my own video album
I do want to make a time-lapse video of Stanlow, but it's too bloomin' cold to stay out all night at the moment Brrrrrrrr

Stand Above Me (1994) - From poor quality video, but fun to watch anyway.

OMD Live in Paris 1979. intro Statues, Bunker Soldiers. This sounds like it was recorded off French Radio. I like the "Statues" sample, but it doesn't really sound like Andy and Paul singing Bunker Soldiers (though it was very early in their career before their voices had matured) But still a very good recording anyway. Some great photo's on the video.

Lego, under the reply box, you'll see a button called 'more options', click that.
Take the number bit at the end of the link to the YouTube link, and paste it in your reply. Then highlight tthat number and click the Yuotube button just above the reply box.
You should see something like this...

Anyway, I posted it for you..... Thanks for the heads up on it!
I'll post it on the offy forum too.

I know who put this up, so I will get the `embedding disabled removed`.
I am currently transfering one to disc, which will be on youtube soon. Call My Name, when the guys appeared on Going Live with a young Philip Schofield!
Cheers for that. Knew there were people on here considerably more cleverer than me!
And you'd be right.....
Just kidding..
Yes, if people find it linked to they can disable the embedding to other sites. Fortunately as you know the owner it means it can still be shared. Have to admit I haven'rt seen this one before.
I did post it on the offy too. Then I posted the Enola Gay cover as a penance
"The pain of life overrides the joy to the point that joy does not exist." Kevin Carter
Finally put Call MY Name on youtube, and youtube just cancelled it! There is a clip of Enola Gay, before an interview with Andy, and they said Enola Gay is copyrighted. Back to the drawing board. Will try and cut that bit out.
Finally got Call My Name on youtube. When the guys appeared on Going Live with a young Philip Schofield. Due to the Enola Gay bit being copyrighted, it is disabled in some Countries. Hope it works! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nKjVW0fXsc
So we will just be left the the mobile phone vids from Chavs and Boy Racers
I think the music industry will lose out in the long run. I use Youtube to listen to new songs which catch my attention, to decide whether it will be worthwhile to purchase a particular album or not. I am sure that I am not the only one that does this.
Having just read the news article, It is not the music industry that is causing this, It is GOOGLE (New owners of youtube). Google are unwilling to pay the licence fee to allow these video's to be shown. They want to pay a lot less than the prices Youtube are currently paying. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7933565.stm
Why now? Just as I have got the knack on how to do it! I do have a look aswell, to see if something is worth buying. I have bought a few cds on the strength of a video clip on there. Oh well, there loss. They will lose lots of viewers.
I'm very close to far away... The More I See You Dont touch me.. I may blow up

I never really "got the hang" of sitting at my PC listening to any music. It's not enjoyable to me. I miss the days of sitting by an open fire with my feet up and my favourite albums playing on my JVC.
