First, "Mata Ortiz Pottery" from my favorite dealer:

Quoted Text
Mata Ortiz Pottery is indeed the real pottery art from Mexico...as fine, if not finer than any Santa Fe Pottery or Southwestern Pottery being made today. Inspired by Casas Grandes Pottery and Paquimé shards that Juan Quezada found as a young boy, pottery makers in America now travel to Mata Ortiz, Nuevos Casas Grandes and Casas Grandes to study some of finest ceramic pottery created. In fact, Juan Quezada's Ollas have elevated the level of quality of any Mexican-art pottery and ceramics. It is highly collectible pottery.

More images of these lovely works of art here.

Also, Wounaan and Embera Darien Rainforest Baskets:

Quoted Text
Each basket represented in this website is unique, painstakingly created over weeks, months, and sometimes years! Designs are inspired by the animals and plants of the rainforest surrounding these warm-hearted people. We hope you enjoy exploring the informative articles and images about the culture that created this unique and expressive art form.

I only own small pieces and drool over the rest!

Yes, the larger pieces can take that long.  They are working with really, really thin pieces of straw (or whatever plant that is).  Much finer than you'd usually see in baskets, almost like fabric.  Amazing stuff.

Kahelelani shell jewelry:

Quoted Text
Kahelelani are the tiniest and most prized of the Hawaiian shells that are sewn into leis. . . . A double strand choker of kahelelani will require 600-700 shells . . . .Kahelelani are found in varying degrees on most of the Hawaiian Islands, but are most abundant on Niihau and Kauai. They have been sewn into leis for centuries.
