Hes right tho.... Ive got these wicker ones that are coloured gold, with red and green, and have santas on them.... then in the middle it says `welcome` one one and `merry christmas` on the other two.... so they dont look `funeral`

it looks strange, but we put up the christmas week in the second week of dec. Some peeps in the netherlands put  up the trees at the end of november. For me,i think that those peeps are crazy.
The reason of why I'm thinking is this,is.........
We dutch and even the belgium peeps cellebrate sinterklaas. We cellebrate it on december the 5th and the belgiums at the 6th.For the children(small children) looks very stange if you put up the x mas tree, while Sinterklaas is still in the country. Then they asked you some questions about it.

What is Sinterklaas?

Sinterklaas,is just for children. In November he and his black pieten will come to holland with the steamboat and lots of children said welcome at him.He also ride through a city with a wite horse(called americo)
At 5 december we cellebrate his birthday.

But what I'm telling you all,not all the people know this.

fact 1 Sinterklaas does not come from spain.
where does come from?
In 270 he was born in  in turkey(at that time turkey was just catholic)
He became a bishop of Myra. and give the poor(yes the poor people,çause he was rich) money.and there are some several stories about him.6 december it was not his birth date, but the date he died.

But what about spain.Itallian people who had praise him, bring his bones to Bari in Itali
In that time Bari was in spanish hands.

Here in the Netherlands we celebrate it since the 13th century. So the children get a lot's of sweets and presents.
But at age of 6/7 the most of the children didn't believe in him, because sometimes they will be recognising somebody, who'd been sinterklaas.

Ahhh.... of course, I think I had vaguely heard once about this. It's the celebration of Saint Nicholas, isn't it? - well, that's what we call him, and he was the basis for Santa Claus. I'd forgotten that in the Netherlands and Belgium you still have this festival. Cool!   Now I understand why you say it must be a bit confusing for the children if people have their Christmas decorations up before that festival!

Oh. And my tree went up yesterday (not in flames, fortunately!!! )

And my fibre optic Santa in his rocking chair, smoking his pipe and reading the childrens letters is on the carpet, rocking away!!!

Don't do wreaths at Christmas - even those designed for christmas do look like they are destined for a funeral!!!

Gonna do the rest of the room tomorrow night maybe... all the ceiling decs!!!
