Hello Peeps,

You all know about andy's wife, treated for cancer. But 3 weeks later reached our family the news that my husbands sister get the diagnose that she had cancer.she started chemo.last sunday we wanted to visit them, but they just canceled the visit, because she didn't feel very well of the chemo.
a couple weeks ago the oldest sister of my husband send us e mail(wich we didn't received).
when she tells us that they gave their sister between 6 months and 2 years to live.
THe terrible thing is,if she dies she left a son,a stephson and husband behind.
The most I worried is the stephson. His real parents don't really care about him.He just found a nice and warm family, where he can grow up and be himself.I hope that he can stay if my husbands sister passed away.He is a nice and clever boy,who sometimes needs a lot of attention.

Sorry,But I had to tell is to some peeps.

p.s.: in the same week called a friend of us.Her mother has lungcancer.
What a terrible and fightnent disease.

I am so sorry to read this, not sure what to say   Cancer is such a nasty thing, and at one stage it will affect most of us. I lost my mum and dad to cancer, and have had close contact with others that have had it....

Such bad news, I am sorry

Mariska, I never know what to say when I read things like this, but I know what I'd LIKE to say if you know what I mean. Don't want to spout alot of stuff which doesn't make you feel any better... All I can say is that I'll be thinking of you and your family ...

I lost my grandmother to cancer many years ago, and I still remember watching her suffer

Try to be strong, and obviously, put your feelings on here if you feel that it helps you!

Be strong, Mariska!!! Kisses and hugs! My thoughts are with you and your family.
Two years ago on this date my dad passed because of cancer. The first time he had cancer, when he was 30. At first all the docs said, it was the end. But then my mum found one brave surgeon, who decided to try. And the op was successful. OK, it left quite hard aftereffects, but my dad was alive, he even could work. Only after 25 years cancer turned back. And dad lived with it  for 2 years.
With all this i want to say- don't lose your hopes yet. Maybe it's worth to try another kind of therapy, or hospital, or doctor?
All my prayers go for your husband's sister.

djpamm, I'm so sorry and sad to hear this news. I lost my mum to cancer 11 years ago, and my nan to it when I was only 9 or 10. And recently I had a friend diagnosed with breast cancer. She's been in hospital for about a month now, because she had been too scared to see the doctor until the lump was in a very bad way. She's had a mastectomy now, and today I just found out that she's coming home at the weekend. But, I'm still worried for her and her family, in case there's more cancer in her. She's having Chemo and it's really making her feel tired, and sick, and generally out of sorts.

I really do feel for you and your family going through this. But sometimes the doctor's aren't always right with the amount of time they say someone has. My mother-in-law had cancer before I met her, which makes it probably about 20 years ago. She was given the same sort of time. But she had treatment and despite what the doctor's thought the cancer went into remission. So far it's never come back. Sometimes the world is a very mysterious place, but there is always hope. And the saying Where there's life there's hope is very true.

My thoughts are with you all.
