See the stars are getting around now, see the new face in Corrie this week?

I keep getting all confused whenever 'Slug' is in corrie though... I keep expecting Gene and the gang to turn up... and his hair's still getting over the 'looks like a bird's mess on it' colouring from the last series of A2A.

I love LoM, but I've enjoyed A2A much more. I did find it all a bit too self-aware for the first few episode of S1, but I think it started to get over that when Alex decided to just go with the flow, although I do like her little moments when she refers to the others as 'constructs' and to the fact that - as far as she's aware - they're not real, none of it is.

I was a bit dubious about the thought of S3 when it was first announced, as I wondered if they could really spin out another series, but the final episode was a corker... left a lovely big cliffhanger that not only made me wonder about everything I'd come to accept in the 2 series of A2A, but also made me reconsider both series of LoM! Very cleverly done... I can't wait for S3! I wonder which way they're going to take this? And in the end will we find out that both Alex and Sam before her were actually from our era and in a coma, or is it all much more complicated than that?

Hope they don't go down the total cop out route that the US version of LoM took though... that was just plain awful! I know that they had to wrap things up quickly as they had the plug pulled (not surprised really, from what I saw - especially as the originals have a massive following in the states anyway), but it was so contrived and trite, it just made a mockery of the whole thing. Believe me, if they do that over here there will be a massive number of fans who will be up in arms and suddenly feel they've wasted the years of discussion and viewing (and re-viewing!)! I for one will feel very cheated!

So no pressure on the writers then

And of course, I have to confess to being a Gene Hunt fan... top copper, and I wouldn't say no Yes, he's a Jack Regan rip-off, but that's the whole point! Doesn't anyone else find themselves wishing that the police of today could get away with some of that sort of thing now? Not the corruption and all that side of things, but there seems to be so little that they can do these days, they even say themselves that it's all about raising revenue so they're too busy concentrating on persuing the motorist for a quick fine to do any real policing...

Oh dear, seems I've ended up on another rant there!
