In about 10 days it's easter. And what did you all do with easter.
Well I made my start, with this threat.
at the first easter day we get up at nine and we eat croissants, with cooked eggs.My daughter get's a bread in a form of a rooster and be bought something(little) of chocolat and a stuffed pullet. Then at 10.00 we'd go to the infant church(special for little kids) After then,we's go for a coffee. And if the weather is nice,we'd go for a walk, otherwise we stayed at home. for diner we had chickenfilet with a crust, patatoes in form of letters and baby carrots and french beans. At the second easter day,I think we do nothing.Maybe only go for a walk. We can't visit my parents, because of my dad and my mother in law is on a little vacation.
Easter's the same as the past 9 years. Work. Watching all the nicely dressed people coming in with thier families to eat breakfast. The church ladies with their big, feathery hats. And trying to be nice to all of them, while my kids have yet another Easter morning without their mother. After that, I'll go home, round up the boys, and go to my mothers for kielbasa, potato salad, and ham. And no matter how big most of my boys are, I always make them an Easter basket, with a chocolate bunny (I'll save some for Maxine) candy and goodies.
I believe in God, but never go to the church just because of celebrations. I like to be there, when i'm alone. And, as i haven't got my own children, i won't do something on Easter.
But latvian families have nice traditions. Parents colour the eggs and hide them somewhere (better in the garden or forest), on Easter morning kids have to find them. After that there are "eggs battles". One kid holds one egg, other kid- another egg. Then they have to click the eggs together. The owner of unbroken egg wins. Children also roll the eggs down the hill. If the rolling egg touches another egg, it wins. It isn't allowed to eat eggs without salt. Who eats without salt- lies all year long. We also have to rock in the swing. It helps to avoid of gnats. But this Sunday is Willow (Palm) Sunday. The family member, who wakes up the first, takes a willow branch, spank others and chant, "Round as a willow, healthy as an onion. Sickness out, health in!"
I'll spank you all in my thoughts! Happy Easter!
How many times have feelings vanished in your head? How many times must they be lost before they're said?
I have no big plans for Easter. Ive got my sisters 2 dogs for the weekend, so she can have a weekend away with her boyfriend. I will be going to my parents house for roast dinner on Easter Sunday. Oliver will no doubt be given loads of chocolate eggs as usual.
