yep. They should be ending support for XP soon (as scheduled), but they are being lobbied to continue that support for some time, even after Windows 7 is released possibly next year. XP is about as stable an OS as you can get right now (believe it or not)

XP has really got a strong foothold, and as such, I don't think the could possibly stop that support.

This was not going to be released to Technet members for a while after general release, but the uproar that caused this week forced a hasty U-turn!!

Well, afte being swiftly removed from download (due to a dubious bug....) SP3 is now back up and available.

Hmmm, had read somewhere today that some peeps had the problem of PC always re-booting after installing SP3, which is a problem I am having at the moment. I did install some sort of update recently, but only a couple of weeks ago, not May?? Oh well...  

PCs are great when they work well, eh?

Have installed SP-3 on Sandras PC to-day, and touch wood, its all OK now

I installed SP3 on Media Edition XP, and a vanilla XP here with no problems really. I think these cases are a little rare to be honest, and depend on certain drivers and file versions.

The actual problem Sandra had was with Sp- 2 a rather strange logon on problem..
