Eric's - "All the best Clubs are downstairs - Everybody knows that!"
by Jaki Florek & Paul Whelan.

I've been looking forward to this book for some time!

A HUGE book (telephone directory size) chronicling the music and times of Eric's and the Mathew Street/Liverpool scene. Contributions from all the major (and minor) local players, and many insights and stories from the people who just went to see the bands. In fact there seems to be something there from anyone and everyone remtely connected to the place!
Loads of Photos and memorabilia too (even a copy of the application form!), and just about covers everything from the local 70s scene through to the final day at the club, the protests, then beyond.

At a glance theres loads of little nuggets, facts, quips, quotes and tales to get into, and will take some time to read!

Andy has a 5 page interview where a few interesting points are made. (Andy, I never realised the opening line to 'Almost' was Teardrop Explodes inspired! And Zoo's response to 'Electricity' is just class! Hope you washed your hands after swapping all those record sleeves....Very Happy)

Its out now from http://www.feedbackmagazine.org or Probe Records (where I got mine) priced at £20 +£5p&p

You'll have to wait a while if Neils gets it first - 500 odd pages with loads of text means you'll probably be seeing it sometime next year

I'll have to put this on my list of purchases when I finally have spare money again

Still, at least then I'll be abke to read it in front of a roaring fire at the new house!
